My sister Noelle came over for the evening earlier this week. Her husband was out of town so we had a girly night together. Noelle, being the sweetest ever, first made dinner for us since my work schedule has been so busy. She didn't make just any meal, she made a southern dinner since Danny is from Louisiana. We had shrimp gumbo, cornbread and homemade apple pie for dessert. It was delicious and Danny was in heaven.
After dinner Noelle and I decided to make
this craft that we saw on pinterest for Halloween. It was pretty easy. Noelle cut 2x4's down to 6 inch blocks beforehand. Once you have your wood blocks, all you need is craft paint and brushes, foam sheets, permanent marker, hot glue, some time and patience.

My Halloween blocks. I thought they turned out pretty cute. |
On the blog with this original idea, she used wood for the accessories for the different Halloween characters, but we found the foam was way easier to work with. We also used a permanent marker to draw on the faces, which we a lot easier than paint. I thought our craft turned out well and it was a fun night with my wonderful sister!
Oh my gosh! Those are so cute!! I might have to make some of those! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Christi!
ReplyDeleteI love girly nights with sisters. The blocks look great--what a fun project. Glad Jonnifer has some new friends :).
ReplyDeleteHeather - Yes, girly nights with sisters are the best. Haha and thanks for getting my quirky sense of humor when it comes to Jonnifer the gnome.
ReplyDeleteGlad you could spend some time with your sister. Your blocks turned out really cute and it makes perfect sense to draw their faces with marker.
ReplyDeleteMama Wood - Thanks and yes, I'm all about making crafts as easy as possible.
