Something to Make You Chuckle on This Thursday Afternoon

My friend Talena showed me this website  awhile back.  Its called Catalog Living and it is a website that takes pleasure in the mockery of unrealistic home and living catalog photos.  You may have already heard of it.  I scanned through the website today and while some scenarios they share are kind of dumb, others made me laugh.  I thought I would share my favorites with you to bring a little smile to your face, you happy reader you.  Enjoy :)

Blockbusters and Crepes

Since it is the blockbuster season, Danny and I have gone to see a few.  (Two to be exact.  Actually we did see the latest "Transformers" a few weeks ago, but it was really stupid, so I didn't want to mention it.  Shoot, I just did.)  We just saw the last Harry Potter movie today.  We have spent the past two weeks watching Harry Potter movies from start to finish to prep ourselves for the grand finale.  I know many of you have already seen the last one, but I still got to say WOW.  It was intense, but a perfect ending.  I even teared up in a few parts.  I can't help that I've grown attached to these characters 7 books and 8 movies later.  I'm a little sad it is all over.  I now want to read the books start to finish. The other movie we went and saw was "Midnight in Paris".  We had a little date night to celebrate 9 months + 1 day of marriage.  We decided to follow a French theme, since I've had this infatuation with France lately.  (No reall

Nostalgia + Temple

I found I had a night to myself, with Danny off jamming with his friends.  I had been anxious all day and knew I couldn’t just sit at home.  I decided to attend the temple; the Draper Temple to be exact, the very temple Danny and I were married in.  It had been awhile since I had attended the temple all by myself. As I was walking through the temple I passed the bench Danny sat on our wedding day, in his three-piece suit quietly waiting for me as he thumbed through the scriptures.  I remember silently approaching in my wedding dress and giving a soft hello.  The look on his face, full of admiration and love and audible “Wow” before he jumped to his feet, is something every girl deserves from her new husband on her wedding day. Each of us have those memories of blissful moments where all was right in the world etched in our minds. That moment is one of mine. Reminiscing brought on moist eyes.  I wanted so much to plant myself on that bench and reverse time.  To hide out in the peace

My Latest Project

I've always want more greenery in my home, but I'm cursed with a very brown thumb.  However, I decided to give house plants another try when some were given to us.  Danny and I went to the store to buy pots for our plants and I just felt the need to dress them up a little.  So after a little painting, decoupaging and a few Harry Potter movies (we have started watching Harry Potter from start to finish in preparation for the final movie) , here are the little homes created for our doomed  happy house plants. The Final Product Habitat for plants

Bell's Canyon

And now a picture tour of our hike: It was a bit steep at times.  I was a little sore afterwards. We first made it to the river, which was quite a rush, haha. So we took a couple picture. The husband, he's cute. I climbed on some rocks. We then made it to the reservoir, lovely isn't it? My feet.  Just so you know, I actually don't think I have the prettiest feet. Foot pictures become a bit addicting, that's all. Couple picture, part deux. We took a walk around the reservoir. And another couple picture.... And here's a pretty flower.  The end.

"Where's Jannifer?" Part 2

Hi friends, it is time for another game of "Where's Jannifer?"  I got to help with the production of the latest Mormon Message (since it is my job).  I was on set helping with paperwork, wardrobe, set dressing and entertaining the two little girls that played the daughters in this production when I got put in as an extra at the last minute.  This Mormon Message is a bit more sobering than the last one I shared, but so important.  As always, well done to my coworkers who are so talented.

The Latest and Greatest

Friends, it has been awhile since I’ve given an update.  I hope everyone had a great 4 th of July.  We had a fun, long weekend full of hiking (get this, my left leg is sore, but not my right…weird), BBQ, Transformers 3 (it was lame, really lame) and let’s not forget, fireworks!  Also, this weekend I taught Sunbeams, a first for me.  It isn’t my calling, but they needed a sub.  I have darling nieces and nephews in that age group, but I was still so nervous.  Teaching Relief Society or Sunday School, no problem.  Primary is a whole new ball game.  To overcome my fears, I called my very clever sister Michele, who is the Sunbeams teacher in her ward.  She gave me some great ideas (thanks Michele) so I felt well equipped for the lesson.  Something I learned, an activity you think will take 5 minutes, really will only take 30 seconds with 3-4 year olds.  We had extra time after the lesson and multiple activities, so I taught the kiddies London Bridges.  The little girls in the class loved
