Looking Forward To

I'm sitting here on my couch enjoying the symphony of chirping of crickets and pattering of rain drops and I dare say, it is lovely.  The second I heard the the rain, I slid the window pane wide open so I could take in its delicious smell and soothing beat.  I love summer rainstorms. I've been thinking the past couple days that perhaps I should add something to blog, but being a slower week, I haven't felt I've had anything "exciting" to blog about.  I've embraced this less exciting week.  Sure, there has been work and commitments, but it has been nice to have things slow down a little bit from full throttle crazy, which is how I've been feeling the past couple of weeks. (Oooo, I just heard some thunder rumble off somewhere in the distance.  This storm keeps getting better and better.) For the exciting section of this post, I'd thought I'd share a few things I'm looking forward to... 1. The weekend Ok that was a given. 2.  This mo

Family Pictures

This past weekend my whole family got together for family pictures and a BBQ.  We are becoming quite a bunch.  It was really fun and a little crazy to be all together.  If you are my Facebook friend, you likely have already seen a lot of these pictures, but I couldn't help posting them here, because I'm such a fan of my fam.  Special thanks to my bro-in-law, Jared, who took all the pics.  He did such a fabulous job! The whole crew. The originals, as Mark put it. My siblings, my parents and me. Me and my honey. I'm such a daddy's girl. My dad and his daughters.  We all think we are his favorite. My mom and her daughters. Sister pyramid.  I can't even remember how this tradition started, but it is tradition. My brother and his little boy.  I thought this was such a sweet picture. I know, my parents are cute. They are also the cutest grandparents ever. Also, I go crazy over these two babies.  Much spoiling from their Au

More Summer Adventuring

Whenever asked what my favorite season is (usually in some type of get-to-know you activity) my response is the summertime.  I like the sunshine (well, my fair skin doesn't) plus I'm a big fan of summer adventuring that seems to occur such has hiking, camping, picnics, etc.  At the end of June, I had a few sad days, because none of these things had occurred.  Full-time work and being an adult sure can get in the way of things.  However, Danny and I have made up for it over the past month or so.  Since I've been so busy, I'm going to have another hodge-podge post of the fun times that were had over the past couple weeks. Paddle Boating Ok, so I already posted some pictures of this event on my instagram post a few posts back.  However, I have to post more pictures, because I can't even tell you how long this activity has been on my bucket list of things to do in SLC.  Years people, years.   (Ok, I guess I just told you.)  I have to give credit to my cousin Julia

Amen

A friend posted this article on Facebook today.  I read it, unfortunately at my desk at work, and it brought me to tears.  Luckily, it was the end of the work day, so I could slip out the door without coworkers noticing. Though Danny and my story (or causes for infertility) are very different from this couple, the feelings are the same.  One day I might share our story, but not with emotions still raw while in the midst of things.  I do have to say, I agree with the many issues he mentions, especially in our very family oriented religious culture.
