1 Year

I don't believe I mentioned that Danny and I hit our 1 year anniversary this past weekend, yay us!  In true Jannifer style we celebrated for multiple days, (two weekends to be exact) because that's what I like to do.  I'm grateful Danny supports me in my desire to celebrate all things. Then... Now... Weekend #1 of celebration we went to the Homestead. And took a drive in the mountaintops so we could take pictures among the leaves. We enjoyed vistas like this! And went swimming in a crater! Weekend #2 of celebration we partied in our home town, which started with a Mexican feast (my fav food). We painted ceramics. I heart Color Me Mine. We went to the temple where we were married. I wore my wedding shoes. We love the temple. We tried to find the trail where we took our wedding pictures. Danny found a clue! We enjoyed nature. And more beautiful vistas! It took us a few tries, but we finally found the right trai

Facts...

(Some random facts I learned from google/wikipedia.) 2% of the world population has green eyes 1-2% of the world population has red hair .7% of women in the US are the height of 5'10'' or taller What does this mean?  It means Danny married one of the rarest women alive.  I informed Danny of this last night, which made him smile.

Book Club - A Girl Named Zippy

I had book club this past week with my two best buds Melina and Talena.  We read A Girl Named Zippy  by Kimmel Haven.  This book is a memoir of Haven's happy childhood growing up in the small town of Mooreland, Indiana.  We had a book club via video chat, but this time, Talena was visiting Melina.   (Little jealous.)   We like to incorporate applicable food with our book club, because who doesn't like food!?  This book club, we popped bags of popcorn at both locations, because apparently popcorn is grown in Indiana, or it's their official snack or something like that. Yay, Talena and Melina! Some how in the middle of our discussion (which always includes much more than just the book we read) we started talking with our hands to liven things up. Our hand conversation turned to finger puppet show put on by Melina and Talena. I love my friends. I must say book club was a success!  Now on to what I thought about the book.  Once I got used to Haven's style, which

An All Telling Measurement of Personality

So for those who have read my blog(s) for long enough, you know I have a small guilty pleasure in taking non-scientifically based quizzes online that measure the deepest aspects of one's soul.  Why you may ask, because I think it is funny.  I found the following little exercise online and while it isn't exactly a personality quiz, it's still fun. I got Loyal, Talented, Thoughtful, and Rest (Does "rest" count, because I don't really know what that means concerning my personality.  I definitely do need more rest in my life.)  Since I think I'm going to veto Rest, The next word I saw was Passionate. Ok, now it's your turn!

Half Birthday!

I have a firm belief that half birthdays should be celebrated.  Actually, I have a firm belief that many obscure holidays should be celebrated, but that is a different post for another day.  My half birthday was this past week.  So to celebrate I took a half day off from work (awesome, right?) and met up with my fabulous cousin Heidi.  We headed up to Park City and had an in depth talk about life during our drive.  I have another firm belief that my friends and I could solve world problems through our simple chats, if the world would only listen to us, but that might be a bit of a biased point of view.  What can I say, I have very wise friends.   (Note to Heidi:  I wish you lived closer!  I miss our talks.)    We had a beautiful afternoon of perusing window displays, art gallery hopping and eating crepes for lunch. I thought this window display was quite cute. Pondering art.  This gallery had Russian Impressionism paintings, which were very cool. The beautiful Heidi!

Fun Online Finds

It has been awhile since I've done an online finds post.  Here are a few goodies I ran into over the past couple of days.  Enjoy!  #1   Monster Blast    For all you Apple loving people out there (the technology, not the fruit) I invite you to check out this new iphone app that my brother created.   (Yay Mark!)  It is a fun, little game involving shooting monsters out of cannons, a dream come true for many, I'm sure. #2  Brandon Flowers and Faith I've always enjoyed tunes by The Killers, but after this message I'm liking them even more.  Hooray for Brandon (lead singer of The Killers) for sharing his beliefs and putting family first.  Plus, I'm loving the songs on this video.  I heard they are from Brandon's solo album "Flamingo", which I think I need to add to my music collection. #3  A Glass Beach in Fort Bragg, California A beach with smoothed glass pebbles! Doesn't this look cool?  Can we say road trip!?

Halloween Craft Time

My friend Brittany and I were discussing the joys of crafting and the latest crafts we wanted to create for Halloween.  Even though Brittany lives states away from me, we came up with the fabulous plan to have craft time together, via video chat.  Yay for technology!  Brittany made a wreath and I painted pumpkins with dimensional paint, sometimes known as puffy paint.  I saw the idea online. Crafting together!  I was happy. Brittany is happy! I painted ivy on the pumpkins first.  The paint came out gray, which kind of freaked me out, but I was relieved to see it dried black.  Once it was all dry, I painted the stalks black with acrylic craft paint. The Final Product! Top view Halloween decore

Autumn Scenes

Danny and I took a few escapades up the canyon recently.  I was lucky enough to snap a few pictures of the changing fall leaves before the mountains were peppered with snow this past week.   (Or should I say salted with snow, since snow is white?)   It was a perfect evening getaway to enjoy the mountain air and gorgeous scenery. I think this is my new favorite picture of Danny and Me. I always feel a kinship with the red-leaved trees. Loved this row of aspen, so pretty! Where the road ended. What is a fall drive without a foot shot?
