This week is my birthday week, or should I say birth week. However that sounds too much like birthing is occurring and that is not the case. (Don't get any ideas, Danny and I have only been married for 5.5 months.) Anyway, I firmly believe in celebrating birthdays for the whole week, because why not?
Talena and I have a tradition each year that is the kick off for my birthday celebration. You see, Talena and I were born 12 days apart. On the midpoint day between our birthdays we go out to dinner to celebrate. We always try to go some where we have never been before. This year we went to the Citrus Grill, which was very delicious. (Special thanks to Eliza for recommending the place.) We had fun dining, laughing and sharing secrets, because that is what girls do.

PS We did have a funny little mishap with the dessert. We got strawberries and whipped cream. It look delightful when they brought it to us. I could smell a faint scent of alcohol, but I figured it was our neighbors' drinks. We ate the whip cream off top and the alcohol scent was much stronger. We quickly figured out it was our dessert the scent was coming from! Apparently the strawberries were sautéed in alcohol, but obviously not very long. It would have been nice to have been warned of such things. We left the rest of the dessert untouched, that was an expensive dollop of whip cream we had for dessert!
You take the yummiest pictures of food. Everytime I read your blog I get hungry...
ReplyDeleteHappy early birthday!!
You would think in Utah they would know to be explicit about what is cooked in alcohol!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthweek!
Erin, I thought the same thing! Maybe it said on the menu, but I didn't see it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that dessert trick was just to help you with your Lentin promise!
