October on Instagram

Oct. 3rd - This is a morbid pic to begin with, but I guess it fits with October
and Halloween.  It isn't as bad as it looks.  For a photo shoot, we had to
have a doll look like our model, so we bought a doll wig, which I was
styling and then had to shave the doll's head for the wig to fit, which
my coworker did.  We found it a bit hilarious, so we took a picture.
Oct. 10th - A coworker brought donuts to work, which I decided was to
celebrate my half birthday.  So in commemoration of my half birthday,
I took a picture of half a donut (although, I really had two.)
Oct. 10th - Ok, I know I already posted this picture on the blog, but it's
a good repeat.  My friend Megan had a birthday party along with a
petting zoo.  Feeding the zebra was the highlight of the evening for me.
Oct. 12th - A lovely view from our hotel in Aspen, CO.
Oct. 12th - On our little weekend getaway to Aspen, we went on a bike
ride along the Roaring Fork River.  It was gorgeous, as you can see.
Oct. 12th - We also hiked up to Maroon Lake and got a view of the
mountain peaks, the Maroon Bells.  Aspen is gorgeous, btw.
Oct. 17th - More fall-y pictures.  This was my view one morning as I
left my house.  I couldn't resist getting a picture of the golden leaves
against the clear, blue sky.  I really love autumn.
Oct. 17th - I should note that most of my job is sitting at a desk making
phone calls, sending emails and sometimes out looking for props.
Social media makes it look much more exciting.  However, I do get
to do random things on occasion.  For this photo shoot, I got to be
a hand model for my friend Tina, who is the photographer in this pic.
Oct. 19th - Danny and I visited my sister Michele in Southern Utah for
her birthday.  She really wanted to go on the carousel, so that is what
we did.
Oct 19th - Michele and Princess C before the carousel ride.
Oct. 25th - Just another day of work, setting up shoes to be photographed.
Oct. 25th - The band, Fictionist!
Oct. 25th - Next, the band, Imagine Dragons!
Oct. 25th - And one more of Imagine Dragons, because I like them.
They put on a great show.
Oct. 26th - Taking a jaunt around Mirror Lake with my friends
Rachel and Melissa.
Oct. 27th - Boots and crunchy leaves just make me happy.  So much, that I
had to take a picture on my way home from church.
Oct. 31st - Nothing says Happy Halloween like a jack-o-lantern pizza.

  2. Looks like you've had a great month. I'm curious about the Barbie doll head. Is that for the New Era? When will we get to see that? And were your hands for the glove/ spirit analogy?

Oh Crafty Trees, Oh Crafty Trees...

I've become a finals widow, if you will, meaning Danny is crazy busy trying to finish up the semester.  This has given me extra time to use my crafty skills to get our place Christmas ready.  My first creations were these little paper/foam trees.  I've seen a few variations online of this craft. I put my own little twist on it.  They are really easy to make, just takes some time. Here is what you need: Scrap paper Hot glue gun 1" Circle punch Foam cone (at most craft stores) Toothpicks Note:  You are going to go to the craft store to buy the little foam cone and you will see styrofoam glue and you will think to yourself that would be a good thing to buy for this project.  Don't!  I got the styrofoam glue and it didn't work at all.  Just go with your trusty glue gun, it won't let you down. I think it's pretty self-explanatory by looking at the picture.  You just punch circles out from the scrap paper.  Then hot glue th...

The End of the Road

There is a time when things fulfill their purpose and that is how I've been feeling with this blog of mine. When I started it, I needed my own little spot to share my thoughts and random stuff I found online. However, having two blogs has become excessive. It has been a good run (me and this little blog) and thanks for joining me. For now on, I will just be posting on my family blog . It's a private blog, but send me a message or a request if you would like to view it. Thanks to those who have taken the time to read my silly thoughts or look at pictures of my cute kiddo or some craft I made. It means a lot to me. Signing off, Jannifer

The Christmas Box

Remember how forever ago I said I would post a tutorial on how to fold these cute boxes.  Sigh, life is busy.  But I am here to fulfill my promise, even if it is a bit belated.  We had a Super Saturday at church with classes we could take.  My awesome friend, Becky, taught us how to create these, so I give her all the credit. What you need, paper, scissors, ruler pencil and some type of adhesive. 1.On the blank side of your paper draw an X from each corner, using a ruler. 2. Fold the bottom corner to the  center. 3. Fold the bottom corner one more  time up to the center. 4. Now you are  going to do the exact  two folds from steps 2 and 3 to the  opposing top corner, so your  paper will look like this. 5.  Unfold your paper and make the same folds to left and right corners that haven't been folded yet.  So once again, fold the point to the middle. 6.  Do a second fold to th...
