The Latest Happenings

I'm behind in blogging.  That means I get to smash together all these fun outings from the past couple weeks in one big post!  Enjoy.

Saratoga Springs Concert
This evening was a dream come true.  My two favorite men in the whole entire world (my Dad and Danny) performed together for the arts in the park series in Saratoga Springs.  We had a great time and I'm so glad the storm held off so we could listen to their tunes.  Danny's friend DRU also came and performed a few songs with Danny.

One of my Dad's original songs, "Porter Rockwell."  I grew up hearing this song.


And another song I love by my dad, "Desert Song."  PS There was a big playground at the park, so you can hear the kiddos screaming and having a good time.

Bees Game

I got free tickets for the Bees baseball game through work.  It was a fun date night for me and Danny. Even though the Bees lost, the cast from the movie "The Sandlot" were there.  That was rather exciting for all.

We went over to my brother's house for cake and ice cream for one of my nephew's birthdays. Delicious and fun.

Silver Lake and Twin Lakes

For Pioneer Day, Danny, his sisters Mary and Sarah, and myself went on a little adventure up to Silver Lake, which is at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon.  Before we left, Danny asked if we needed to prepare with water or anything.  I brushed it off and answered that the trail around Silver Lake is easy and more of a stroll.  We weren't actually going hiking.

Halfway around Silver Lake, we saw the trail up to Twin Lakes.  That sounded fun. Plus, it said it was only a mile away.  How hard could a mile be?  Mary and I were game and Danny and Sarah followed our optimism.  The trail was a mile, one steep, rocky, mile.  It took longer than expected to get there, but we did it!  Plus the wildflowers up at the top were gorgeous.  However, next time I think we need to bring water.
