I know I've mentioned this before, but one of my great escapes from life is the mountains! Good thing we have so many canyons and peaks nearby. I don't think I could ever live in a place without mountains, it would hurt my heart. (Except for England, I could always live in England.)
I convinced Danny a canyon drive was needed last weekend, because for a very, very short time each year there is a moment when all the mountains are green and gorgeous. It fades quickly, being that we live in a desert and all. Danny and I drove the windy roads and enjoyed the lush scenery. Oh, how I love my mountains.
Second, this week has been a little slow at work. Should I admit that online? Probably not. Good thing I have bright and smart thinkers for facebook friends (Those who aren't, I just hide from my newsfeed. Another thing I shouldn't admit online.) who have shared many interesting articles to help me pass the time. Anyway, here are a few of my favorites I've came across.

I found this article fascinating. This was written by the daughter of Alice Walker, the author of The Color Purple. She shares her experience of what it was liked being raised by (in her words) a fanatical feminist. (Note: There is a bunch of garbage celebrity article links down the side of the article. Just ignore those or make your window small enough that you can't see them, because they annoyed me.)
I liked this article entitled The Gift of Siblings. I have 5 siblings of my own, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. I'm grateful each one of them and the friendship I have with them. We do think we are one hilarious bunch, which makes family parties awesome.
This one is a blog post of different short histories of pioneer women from LDS Church History. I'm grateful for these stories that have been passed down, which are my heritage.
Last, this article had my nodding in agreement quite a bit concerning what an LDS Mission is really like. (Spoiler: It's hard.) I particularly like that this article is from the view of a sister missionary. I'll be honest, I don't love all the Mormon movies of mission work that she references; however, she makes really valid points.
Great pictures and all interesting reads Jannifer. You are lucky to have time to read things while you are at work. Don't feel bad about it. I think you could say reading these articles help you do your job better. They enlightened me.
