In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thought I would be giving and share with you my latest find, because you are my friends and that is what friends do. (Actually Chris Carrabba is the giving one, but that is besides the point.) If you go to the Dashboard Confessional website, you can download 4 new songs for free. Doesn't that just make your day? It made mine. The new songs are all acoustic creations from Chris Carrabba. They are bit more folky and more upbeat than his past tunes that got me through romantic turmoil during college. (I know I'm not the only one who listened to "Screaming Infidelities" full blast on more than one occasion after a little heartbreak.) However, I'm really like this upbeat version from Carrabba and I love that he is doing acoustic songs again. His songs have matured a bit, like myself since those fun-filled college days. Glad we are on the same page. Hey remember when I met Chris Carrabba? Yeah, that was cool.
I've become a finals widow, if you will, meaning Danny is crazy busy trying to finish up the semester. This has given me extra time to use my crafty skills to get our place Christmas ready. My first creations were these little paper/foam trees. I've seen a few variations online of this craft. I put my own little twist on it. They are really easy to make, just takes some time. Here is what you need: Scrap paper Hot glue gun 1" Circle punch Foam cone (at most craft stores) Toothpicks Note: You are going to go to the craft store to buy the little foam cone and you will see styrofoam glue and you will think to yourself that would be a good thing to buy for this project. Don't! I got the styrofoam glue and it didn't work at all. Just go with your trusty glue gun, it won't let you down. I think it's pretty self-explanatory by looking at the picture. You just punch circles out from the scrap paper. Then hot glue the circles to the foam tree in
I think it's funny that a day or two after you posted this, I had a dream that you and I went to an acoustic Dashboard Confessional jam session. I remember liking what they were playing and was impressed with how personal they were. When I woke up, I thought, "Oh yeah that definitely was a dream if I was enjoying the music of Dashboard Confessional." ;)
