Yellowstone Pictures!!

As promised, here are a ton of pictures for our vacation to Yellowstone!  Just so you know, I took over 200 pictures, so this is just a small sample, haha.  Enjoy!

A beautiful vista just up the road from our cabin.

My handsome husband on the porch of our cabin.

The view from our cabin, don't be jealous.

My new friend...he really likes to finger paint.

Me and the husband near one of the hot springs.

A mud pot.  I hear it is the fountain of youth, just melts wrinkles away.
(Kidding)

My shadow waving to you all the way from Geyser Basin.
The colors at the different geyser basins were so brilliant, I loved it!

Doesn't that look like lava!?  It wasn't, but still looks cool.

What we did while waiting for Old Faithful...ate pudding cups, mmmm.

Embracing Nature

Old Faithful

Danny and Me by Yellowstone Lake.

By Gibbons Falls

Danny by another waterfall.  I can't remember the
 name of this one.

I loved this view and I really wanted to hike down to
that pond, but we were running low on time, so
maybe next time.

Butterflies

Me by a section of Mammoth Hot Springs.  Danny told me it matched
my hair.

Another picture by Mammoth Hot Springs.

Yellowstone River

My favorite hike from our whole trip was hiking down to the Yellowstone
River.  I had so much fun wading around in the water.

Water break.

Another beautiful view! I couldn't get enough of the scenery.

A bison by our car.

And then the heavens opened...

We rented a boat and went on a little ride around Hebgen Lake (where
our cabin was).
Geese on the lake.

At the Top of Lower Falls.

  4. I am totally jealous of your view from the cabin! Tim and I were just saying we should go to Yellowstone sometime. Maybe we should make a big family trip; it looks like you guys know where all the good stuff is! I don't think I've been there since I was 4 or 5. Hope you guys had a nice relaxing time before Danny had to start school.

PS. Thank you for wearing life preservers on your boat ride!

Oh Crafty Trees, Oh Crafty Trees...

I've become a finals widow, if you will, meaning Danny is crazy busy trying to finish up the semester.  This has given me extra time to use my crafty skills to get our place Christmas ready.  My first creations were these little paper/foam trees.  I've seen a few variations online of this craft. I put my own little twist on it.  They are really easy to make, just takes some time. Here is what you need: Scrap paper Hot glue gun 1" Circle punch Foam cone (at most craft stores) Toothpicks Note:  You are going to go to the craft store to buy the little foam cone and you will see styrofoam glue and you will think to yourself that would be a good thing to buy for this project.  Don't!  I got the styrofoam glue and it didn't work at all.  Just go with your trusty glue gun, it won't let you down. I think it's pretty self-explanatory by looking at the picture.  You just punch circles out from the scrap paper.  Then hot glue th...

The End of the Road

There is a time when things fulfill their purpose and that is how I've been feeling with this blog of mine. When I started it, I needed my own little spot to share my thoughts and random stuff I found online. However, having two blogs has become excessive. It has been a good run (me and this little blog) and thanks for joining me. For now on, I will just be posting on my family blog . It's a private blog, but send me a message or a request if you would like to view it. Thanks to those who have taken the time to read my silly thoughts or look at pictures of my cute kiddo or some craft I made. It means a lot to me. Signing off, Jannifer

Hello Sunshine

I've had the book The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron on my bookshelf for a couple of years now. It is a program that is supposed to connect you to your inner creativity. It may sound a little out there, but sometimes I try out there stuff. So after reading the first chapter, I thought, why not? Creative endeavors always feed my soul and as of late, my soul needs some feeding. Part of the program is to take yourself on a weekly artist date. Dating myself to connect to my inner creativity? Younger versions of myself may have laughed at this, but the mom version of myself is excited about the idea of time alone .  In pure defiance of the snow I have seen almost daily for months, for my first artist date, I decided to get a pedicure. I mostly was there for the foot massage, but I figured if I make my toes sandal ready, then surely the weather will take the hint and spring will start making its appearance. (I know, I know, we need the snow, we are in a drought. All the lakes a d...
