2 Years

It has been 2 years since this blessed event...

Funny that this picture is one of my favorites from my wedding. The
semi-awkward moment when my brothers and new husband were
trying to hold me up still makes me chuckle.  I  remember vividly Tim
yelling out, "I don't know where to put my hands!"  Haha, my brothers
are such good sports.
Here we are all sorted out.  It kind of looks like I'm floating.
And here is a picture with my sisters so they
don't feel left out.
I know I should make a comment of how time flies, but honestly, I feel the passing of time since my wedding has felt like 2 years to me.  No more, no less.  Marriage has brought a lot of good times and growing times.  I think the thing that amazes me the most is how much Danny has become such an integral part of my life. Both good and growing times have caused us to grow together, so much that I really can't imagine life without him.  For that I am grateful.

In other news...

  • We (Danny and I) recently returned from an adventure.  You better believe our anniversary was celebrated with a bang.  There really is no other way to celebrate.
  • Also, I reviewed a production for the Utah Theater Bloggers Association, which you can read here.  This review was a hard one.  Writing positive reviews is easy.  Writing negative reviews with a positive spin on it, not so much.

  1. I love the picture of the boys trying to hold you. Your Jekyll-Hyde review was well-done, even if the play wasn't. I love the title!

  2. Jannifer, I can't convey just how grateful we are that you are a part of our family now! We can't imagine Danny's life without you! Even though we live far apart and don't get to see each other that often I feel like I know you (thanks to a wonderful thing called a BLOG!)and I enjoy reading and seeing what you and Danny are up to. I know you had a spectacular anniversary because I know you love to celebrate all things to the fullest. Please know that you and Danny are remembered in our family prayers every day. That proves how much we love you! :)

  3. p.s. The "prove you're not a robot" numbers and letters are really ANNOYING! I hate doing them after leaving a nice comment. Maybe you could do away with it? Pretty Please?

  4. Aww, thanks Mama Wood and Becky. Mama Wood - I'm glad you like my review. The editor actually came up with the title, so I can't really take credit for that. Becky - I added the "robot numbers" back on my blog because for whatever reason blogger wasn't allowing me to comment on my own blog without them.

  5. Hmm...that's crazy! I understand! Well, I'll just deal with the obnoxious requests! Sometimes they are really hard to read and I have to go through several different one! :)

Oh Crafty Trees, Oh Crafty Trees...

I've become a finals widow, if you will, meaning Danny is crazy busy trying to finish up the semester.  This has given me extra time to use my crafty skills to get our place Christmas ready.  My first creations were these little paper/foam trees.  I've seen a few variations online of this craft. I put my own little twist on it.  They are really easy to make, just takes some time. Here is what you need: Scrap paper Hot glue gun 1" Circle punch Foam cone (at most craft stores) Toothpicks Note:  You are going to go to the craft store to buy the little foam cone and you will see styrofoam glue and you will think to yourself that would be a good thing to buy for this project.  Don't!  I got the styrofoam glue and it didn't work at all.  Just go with your trusty glue gun, it won't let you down. I think it's pretty self-explanatory by looking at the picture.  You just punch circles out from the scrap paper.  Then hot glue th...

The End of the Road

There is a time when things fulfill their purpose and that is how I've been feeling with this blog of mine. When I started it, I needed my own little spot to share my thoughts and random stuff I found online. However, having two blogs has become excessive. It has been a good run (me and this little blog) and thanks for joining me. For now on, I will just be posting on my family blog . It's a private blog, but send me a message or a request if you would like to view it. Thanks to those who have taken the time to read my silly thoughts or look at pictures of my cute kiddo or some craft I made. It means a lot to me. Signing off, Jannifer

Things that brought me joy this week

This past week was Melina's birthday!  Since she lives far away, Talena and I put together a hula party in a box and mailed it to her.  We found all of these treasures at the dollar section at the front of Target.  My favorite moment was when we heard a lady gripe about how the discount section was full of a bunch of useless stuff that no one would buy.  At that very moment we turned the corner, with our hand basket full of awesome stuff we had found.  We just smiled. The party supplies The party agenda I was having a bit of a low evening and Danny suggested we go get my latest craving Sonic blasts.   (Ice cream + candy + whipped cream.)  I know you aren't supposed to feed sorrows with food, but this particular evening I made an exception.  Whoever made that Sonic blast was heaven sent.  It had more Reese's peanut butter cups than actual ice cream.  It's like they sensed my heavy heart and tried to heal it with choc...
